This episode didn't really do it for me. I'm not exactly a fan of episodes where there is nothing Supernatural going on even though I did stand up for The Benders back in the first season. One episode where there is nothing supernatural going on is one thing but to have another one where it's just people is another. It was weird because as I watched it no matter how much they said that it was just a human girl I didn't believe it. The idea just didn't fit into my head. Even when she stepped over the salt I didn't immediately go 'it's a human' my brain just sort of fizzled and went 'oh god it's some kind of monster that can get over salt'. I just don't think I wanted another episode like that and really I didn't really feel much for the family because I never do. It's impossible to forge a connection with them when you know how little time they have to live and you know you're never going to see them again. I was kind of hoping, when I did finally accept that it was a human and not anything remotely supernatural, that something supernatural had killed their other child. Just so something supernatural was going on. Also with the whole human thing does that mean that the thing that was licking the girl's hand was that crazy woman. Ick. No, this episode wasn't what I had been waiting for and it was a bit of a disappointment. The whole revelation over Dean in Hell at the end made the episode feel like it hadn't been a complete waste of my time but in the end it wasn't what I wanted to watch and it was something of a letdown. Three out of ten.
