New Years Memes!

Now that my free trial of World of Warcraft has ended I've finally got enough time to sort out all those end of year memes that have been piling up. For example there's this one about posting the first sentence of your post from each month.

Jan: I always used to say that if you didn't put swap your calendars immediately the New Years Police would come and arrest you.
Feb: Okay so that was a lot of words to describe what's about to happen.
Mar: So here we are, in the month of March, only March is a rubbish name for a month.
Apr: I tend to spend the day on high alert of incoming april fools's so I don't really fall victim to anything much.
May: Nothing, I like my home and I don't have an office.
Jun: 1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.
July: So here we are at the start of another month which means it's time once again to rename this month in keeping with the feature I do every month where I rename the month.
August: In the world?
September: This won't come as a surprise to anyone who knows me but I absolutely love the song "I'm Under Your Spell" from Once More With Feeling.
October: First of all bear in mind that this morning while I was watching the episode I was half asleep from not sleeping last night so I may not be the best most well informed person to ever write a review.
November: Okay so I know that it's now literally ten minutes away from November.
December: Hey everyone look!

Told you. Anyway there's another meme kicking about the place and I'm going to give that one a shot as well. Because I've obviously not got anything better to do with my life now my free trial of WoW is over.

1) Where did you begin 2008?
Do you mean where I emotionally began 2008? At what point I was in my own internal struggles, or do you just mean my physical location? Either way I was at home.

2) What was your status by Valentine's Day?
Still at home.

3) Were you in school anytime this year?

4) How did you earn your money?
The usual way

5) Did you have to go to the hospital?
All the bleeding time. Seriously they should set up a blood clinic in my living room. It would save some time, although I suppose it would be kind of disruptive to the relaxing living room atmosphere that we try to cultivate in there. I love it when people say they try to cultivate atmosphere. I can just picture them in a little greenhouse with upholstery and a metaphysical rake.

6) Did you have any encounters with the police?
I saw some police officers once or twice. They were off to arrest some criminals for doing a crime. Good old policemens.

7) Would you relive 2008 over and over again?
What? Like an extremely long and drawn out Groundhog Day. Groundhog Year perhaps? By the way if they make a sequel to Groundhog Day and it's called Grounghog Year then I demand compensation. You heard it here first. Anyway as regard to whether I'd like to endlessly repeat the year? No. I like to move forwards.

8) What did you purchase that was over $1000?
In dollars? I honestly have no idea. I used to have an idea as to what dollars were worth (approximately of course) but thanks to the good old credit crunch and this recession (by the way can people stop saying credit crunch now? thanks) dollars could be worth anything. $1000 could be enough to get you the Mona Lisa or perhaps it's about half of the price of a handburger. I have not a single idea.

9) Did you know anybody who got married?

10) Did you know anybody who passed away?
I'm guessing celebrity deaths don't count? Then no.

11) Did you know anyone who had a baby?

12) Did you move anywhere?
Nope, I stayed still the entire year. Typing the responses to this meme is the most I've moved during the entire span of the twelve months. No of course I've moved, what do you think I am? Some kind of sentient statue determined to hunt down and take pointless quizzes?

13) What concerts/shows did you go to?
None, but I go to Ross Noble next year.

14) Are you registered to vote?
Registered? Seriously I do not understand voting. Anyway I wouldn't vote because it's all pointless.

15) Do you still have the same job as you did in 2007?
Yeah, I have the same no job as i did way back then.

16)Has anyone betrayed you in 2008?
I don't know about you but my life isn't Angel. When people betray me I probably don't even notice. That said I don't think anyone has betrayed because who would they betray me to? Amy Winehouse? Not a chance, we're bestest friends now you know.

17) Where do you live now?
The same.

18) Describe your birthday?
Quite quiet.

19) What's one thing you thought you'd never do but did in 2008?
Bought World of Warcraft

20) What has been your favorite moment?
I don't know, there's been so many great moments, like when... erm... and... then there was that one where... aha! There was a new episode of Shooting Stars! That was dead good! Okay so perhaps it wasn't the best moment of the year but it's the best one I can actually remember at the moment. Curse my stupid memory.

21) What's something you learned about yourself?
I have the willpower of a dead stoat.

22) Any new additions to your family?

23) What was your best month?
November. Tons of new programs. Awesome games. Trying to write a novel. Watching awesome programs via the internet. November was made of awesome.

24) Were you in a relationship this year?

25) What music will you remember 2008 by?
Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl (because you run but you can't hide from this song)
Panic! At The Disco - When The Day Met The Night (Pretty Odd was the soundtrack to my summer on World of Warcraft)
Amber Benson - Under Your Spell (for Buffy and lesbian goodness)
Aphex Twin - Z Twig (Perfect for night drives on GTA IV)
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley (the version that should have got to number 1)
Coldplay - Viva La Vida (for the, what now seems rather boring, reason that I like it)

26) Who has been your best drinking buddy/buddies?

27) New friend?

28) Favorite Night out?
Out? In the outside world? I like nights, they're all well and good, but if I have to go out I'm out, and not in a good way.

29) Would you say you've changed since the beginning of this year?
Maybe a little.

30) Do you think 2009 will be better or worse?
It'll probably be worse thanks to this credit crunch we're all having now and all that. You know what? I don't know why we're having a credit crunch. I mean why don't we print out more money and stop having a recession? And I know what you're going to say "but we'll have to carry around our money in wheelbarrows it will cost a million pounds for a penny sweet" well isn't having loads of money but everything costing proportionally more better than this? At least you get to have loads of money in that instance.

And there you are. Happy New Year everyone.
