The sheer bloody-mindedness continues in Part 2 of Post 1000. Will I get through the whole backcatalogue or will I have to do another part? Stay tuned to find out.

What does winter mean to you?

It's that time of the year when the trees are bare and sometimes, if you live in the magical world of your own imagination, it snows. Christmas happens. I tend to watch far more DVDs than is probably healthy. Which is a good point. I have no idea how I'm going to do that this year. I'm already rewatching and (potentially) reviewing episodes of Buffy, as well as reviewing the latest episodes of most of the TV programs coming out of America, I'm also trying to watch this program called Shark (which I'm not making much progress in just at the moment) and I'll probably be ordering a couple of games in a bit, so I have no time for anything else. Hell I don't have enough time for everything I want to do without adding filmvent into the mix.

How do you react to cold weather?

Shockingly I wrap up warm. Honestly some questions are so stupid it's a wonder they manage to exist without imploding from their own stupidity. What did you think I was going to say? I take my clothes off and sunbathe in the river? That's not normal behavior even if it's sunny. People simply shouldn't sunbathe in the river. There might be fish in there and a suntan could seriously damage those fish.

How do your eating/cooking habits change in the winter?

Ever get the feeling that it's winter when it isn't? Seriously, it only just became the first day of autumn today. The way these questions are talking you'd think I was living in lapland and there was a blizzard and there was some kind of white panther made from snow just waiting till I turned my back on it for a second before it pounced on me and suffocated me with snow. Okay you probably wouldn't think that last bit, but I would. And I did. Hence why it's there.

What was it like during winter where you grew up?

Much the same as it is during winter where I am now. And the way it is during winter where I am now? Slightly colder but otherwise much the same. Okay in the timeline of these questions it is probably winter. I get that. I understand it. Hell I might even respect it a little bit. But the bit I have problems with is that before it was winter in the timeline of these questions it was autumn. Back then the questions didn't ask me about autumn every single question. No sometimes there was questions about... erm... actually I'm not sure what the questions were about as I tend to ignore them and just rant on at my own tangents. The point is "shut up about winter." Thank you.

How do you decorate for the holidays?

To decorate you take some decorations and then put them up. Then you've decorated. It's as simple as that. Oh you didn't want a how to guide? Sorry. Misunderstanding. We usually decorate for Christmas with a christmas tree and a couple of little ornaments. Christmas cards go up on the fireplace and all that. Except last year when we had visitors to our house and we didn't feel like the downstairs was for us any more, we were so effectively squeezed out. We didn't put any up, not even the Christmas tree, then because there didn't seem much point. We were hardly downstairs at all. This year though I intend to return to having decorations with a vengeance. It's going to be the most decorated Christmas ever.
Actually I say it'll be the most decorated Christmas ever but it won't. I've obviously forgotten about the house near the shopping centre. They have Christmas decorations up all year round and you've never seen such decorations before. Statues, lights, models. The house is more Christmas than it is house. Plus you know what. They have the cheek to put out a donations bucket outside their house to donate to keeping the decorations going. How I hate them!

What's on your list for Santa this year?

Nothing as of yet. However Spore, Viva Pinata: Trouble In Paradise, Soul Calibur IV and Mercenaries 2 are on my list for me this. And because I'm a lot more punctual and considerate than Santa I've already ordered them for myself.

What is one of your favorite holiday traditions?

I like the tradition of stuffing myself silly with food then watching films. I hope they have something good on this year. I watched The Great Escape for the first time ever last year. Then I was depressed because it's not an escape at all. Everyone dies. That title is so misleading. I know that war is bad and everything but this is a film they decide to show every year? A film which ends in bitter tragedy? Who schedules these things. I worry for their children.

When did you stop believing in Santa Claus and why?

I personally don't ever remember fully believing in him. So either I've blocked it out which I don't think is very likely, I can't remember ever blocking any memories out, or I never actually properly believed. Pesonally I'm inclined to believe the latter and I should know. I am me.

Share a holiday memory.

Once I lost my hat while I was on holiday in Tunisia. I left it inside a taxi. I never saw it again. Not ever. Not even in my dreams.

Share your favorite thing about this time of year.

I'm assuming that this question is still about Christmas but as it isn't Christmas at the moment my favourite thing about Autumn is erm... this is a tough one. What exactly are the qualities of this time of the year? Leaves are changing colour and falling on the floor. No that's not my favourite. I don't mind that leaves are changing colour and falling on the floor but it isn't particuarly interesting or important. Hedges stop growing. That's a good quality of this time of year. It means I have to cut the hedge less often. But the best quality of this time of year is that all the American TV programs start up again with a brand new season. I've just watched the first episode of the third series of Heroes today. It was awesome.

How are you spending the holidays?

Here we have question 166. It's a shame that this isn't actually a better question and that all I can do with it is try and come up with a hilarious joke where I equate christmas to money. However now I've given away the punchline I can't even do that. So I'm just going to move on. I'm probably as sick of this entry now as you are and it can't be far till I catch up to where I first started doing the Writer's Block.

What does it take to make a good movie? What's the best movie you've seen recently?

A good movie needs to have a good plot. Or if it doesn't then it needs to have really good special effects and an army of scantily clad lesbians. Or maybe it doesn't need to have them but needs to have good comedy. You know what? You're asking a very vague question here. A good horror movie needs to be scary but a good romcom wouldn't work very well if it was scary. Unless it was a zomromcom like Shaun of the Dead. Different films need different things to be good. Although if you want guaranteed good without thinking what works for a specific film then just stick in that previously mentioned army of scantily clad lesbians. You can't go wrong with that.

Are there any celebrities you admire?

The real question should be "Are there any celebrities that I don't admire?" and yes there are plenty of celebrities I don't admire. Look at Peter Andre. I don't think anyone's ever admired him unless they were admiring his ability to be famous while being a completely useless and unlikeable idiot. Which admittedly is impressive.
But if I was to go so far as to respond to the actual question I would say that I admire Russell Brand for his comedic abilities, sexual prowess and relaxed attitude to moral conundrums. I also admire Ross Noble for his astonishing comedic ability, Jasper Fforde and Robert Rankin for their writing abilities and styles, Tatu for being such great singers and also lesbians and so on and so forth.

Describe your idea of a perfect party.

One where I'm not. I don't really do well with parties and get along better with people individually.

How do you keep yourself entertained?

Sometimes I sing little made up songs or do a little dance or something. My friend used to say that small things entertain small minds but he used to say a lot of things.

What's your secret talent?

When will people learn that if you use the word secret in a writer's block prompt everyone who reads it will go: "If I tell you my secret talent it won't be a secret anymore" I could say something clever or reveal a hidden talent or something but instead I'll go the cliched route in the hope that one day people will learn that asking questions about secrets always ends the same way. Ahem.

I could tell you my secret talent. But then it wouldn't be a secret would it?

See. How do you like them apples? Bet you won't be asking any more questions about secrets any time soon. Next up is the last Writer's Block question in this my 1000th Livejournal Post. Here we are at long last. After this I'll have answered more or less all the questions Writer's Block has ever posed and completed my 1000th post spectacular. So without further ado. Here goes. The moment you've all been waiting for.

What kind of games do you play?

I play a variety of games including platform games like Ratchet and Clank, first person shooters like Timesplitters, third person shooters like Gears of War, rpgs like Final Fantasy, mmorpgs like Guild Wars, puzzle games like Portal, point and click games like Monkey Island, fighting games like Soul Calibur, sim games like The Sims (in fact The Sims is the only sim game I play) and the occasional racing game (which is Burnout).

And there we are. It's finished! It's finally over! And I don't need to do it again for another 1000 Posts! Yay!
