I love memes.

They're like content but without any of that laborious thinking you usually have to do in order to produce content. So here goes. This one is a writing meme shamelessly pinched from zeddish and it goes like this:

The writin' meme: Post the first lines from each of your 25 most recent fanfic pieces and try to find a pattern.

First the first lines:

"I've been getting some very odd signals." said the Doctor thoughtfully. - Stardom (Doctor Who)

“Captain Alexander West, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” a sudden voice cut through the control chamber of the TARDIS. - Human (Doctor Who)

The sun was setting over the island of Mauna Kea. - Grand Theft Auto: Mauna Kea (Grand Theft Auto)

Maze stood against one of the walls in Tahnnakai Temple. - Twilight (Guild Wars)

The sky burned black and the ground trembled and creaked underfoot. - Ninth Hand (TESIV: Oblivion)

This is the first thing Red can remember. - Still Alive (Portal)

Yolanda Vert was tall with long blonde hair and blue eyes. - Love and Nihilism (Psychonauts)

At this very moment in the town of Coeur d’Coeurs, young Ned was 9 years, 27 weeks, 6 days and 3 minutes old. - Touch (Pushing Daisies)

Paradoxes are tricky things, it was two years since the end of a war that had never happened. - Time Difference (TimeSplitters)

The thing that can most easily be summarised from this is that I very rarely manage to keep my attention on one thing long enough to write even a full chapter of it, nevermind the entire story. The second is that first lines are often not very helpful. There isn't a first line here that would even give a clue as to the nature of the story. And so I declare that this meme is officially unhelpful and fit only for providing a slight amount of content on an otherwise uneventful Saturday. Enjoy.
